Power of One
Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks, formerly known as Rosa Louise McCauley, was a strong civil rights leader, and important part of the movement. Rosa Parks did not really affect science and technology very much, but affected the governent, by joining the NAACP and the civil rights movement. By not giving up he seat on the bus to a white man, and defying the law influenced by racism, she was able to convince the Supreme Court that the fine was null in void, and helped create a law that would go against segregation on public transportation. Rosa Parks probably did not affect the economy that much, other than the possibility that public transportation got more users and money. Rosa Parks would probably not be the best choice for the power of one project. I pretty much wasn't suprised by what i have read about Rosa Parks because I already know what she basically did and what she was apart of, but was kind of suprised by the quote she had about the KKK and the fear she would have to undergo for a long time.
Barack Obama
Barack Obama affected american history greatly by being able to become the first african american president. One thing that suprised me about Obama, was that he used his "power" in more helpful and peaceful methods than most leaders have used their power, like how he tried locking up dangerous weapons, cut taxes, and spread health care to families and children. This suprised me mainly because I didn't think anyone would be able to do so much good. Barack Obama has great potential to be a power of one subject, because he is currently affecting our economy, and he is part of the government and is passing helpful bills,
